The Football Five: Lebanon County’s top five performers from Week 6

Lebanon County’s sixth week of football concluded with three teams in the area earning wins, and some athletes having stand out performances through the action.

As the season shifts into October football, let’s look at the best stat lines around the gridiron from Week 6.

Jonathon Shay, (Sr.) Annville-Cleona

The Dutchmen earned a tight 35-28 win over Kutztown, and it came as a result of their best players leading the way. Shay’s performance saw him dominate both sides of the ball as per usual, and the senior walked away with the most yards and tackles on his team. After getting 19 carries, he finished with 152 total yards and a rushing score while averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Shay was equally as impressive on defense, and it added to the senior’s highlight reel. Shay’s presence on the defensive line led to 13 total tackles and a tackle for loss and helped to push Annville-Cleona to a 3-3 record.

Annville-Cleona’s Jonathon Shay runs through defenders vs. Hamburg. The Dutchmen faced against the Hawks to begin Section 5’s in-conference play on September 13, 2024. The Hawks won 27-14 to advance to 3-1 on the season, while the Dutchmen fell to 1-3.

Steven Rosado, (Sr.) ELCO

The Raiders have seen their quarterback take over on the way to a win already this year, and Rosado’s three-touchdown game in Week 6 showed it once again. ELCO’s senior got the scoring started, and he kept the offense rolling enough to build a two-possession lead in the team’s 19-13 win over Daniel Boone.

Rosado’s first score came inside the goal line on a rush and put the Raiders’ lead at 7-0 by the end of the first quarter. It was followed up soon by another as Rosado tossed a 10-yard…
