Former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord throws 63 passes, leads Syracuse to OT win at UNLV

Former Ohio State quarterback quarterback Kyle McCord continues to put up big numbers at Syracuse.

McCord, who was 11-1 as a starter for the Buckeyes and transferred after not being promised this starting job, completed 40 of 63 passes for 355 yards, three touchdowns and one interception as the Orange topped No. 25 UNLV 44-41 in overtime.

McCord’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Meeks with 23 seconds remaining tied the game 38-38 and sent it to overtime.

UNLV got the ball first in overtime and kicked a 41-yard field goal to take a 41-28 lead. The Orange then put together an eight-play possession to score the winning touchdown, a 1-yard run by LeQuint Allen.

Both teams are 4-1.
