The American Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that USF’s game against Memphis, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. ET, has been moved to Saturday, Oct. 12 at 3:30 p.m. due to the forecasted impact of Hurricane Milton. As of now, the game will still be held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

“After the storm has passed, the conference and teams will assess the conditions and overall situation to determine if any further adjustments are necessary.” USF said in a statement.

Television details will be announced at a later date. This is the first FBS game to be impacted by Hurricane Milton, which could make landfall in the Tampa Bay area by Wednesday.

Milton is currently a Category 5 hurricane and could bring the largest storm surges that the Tampa Bay area has seen in over a century. Florida has already issued an evacuation order for residents living in Milton’s projected path.

This comes just two weeks after Hurricane Helene, which passed through several states on the East Coast and left debris in Florida’s Hillsborough County that officials are still working to clean up.

This is set to be South Florida’s first home game since Sept. 21 — a 50-15 loss to Miami — and its first American Athletic Conference home game of the season.
