ASU football rises in AP poll voting, but was it enough?

After a big win over Utah, the Arizona State Sun Devils picked up 39 votes in the Associated Press poll released Sunday morning, but it wasn’t enough to crack the Top 25.

Texas and Oregon are Nos. 1-2, with SMU, Illinois, Army, Michigan and Navy the final five.

Just outside the Top 25, Vanderbilt and Nebraska were the only schools that picked up more votes than ASU.

ASU received 49 votes, good for No. 27 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, voted by coaches from across the country.

ASU (5-1) next heads to Cincinnati for a 9 a.m. MST game on Saturday.
